Lucas :: 6 months

LUCAS NEAL

SIX MONTHS

written Wednesday, June 19th.

This post definitely feels like a milestone. We even semi-celebrated your half-birthday, which I proposed we do EVERY year, because... why not? :) You have sincerely GROWN. UP. this month. For real. You know what's going on most of the time around the house. When we walk up the stairs, you know we're headed to your room, you know exactly what a bottle is (but also try to get your hands on anything else that looks like a bottle, too). You now put your arms in the air when you want picked up. Your little screeches are especially loud and cheerful in the morning, and they are oh so adorably sweet. Nearly everyone you meet comments on your oh-so-happy demeanor. You are so smiley :)

Lately you've been sleeping through the night (holla!) and waking up for the day a little before 7am. You usually are up for anywhere from 1-2 hours and then take a 2 hour nap. You have lunch around 11am and are ready for another 2 hour nap about 1pm. Sometimes you take another hour nap in the afternoon. You eat again around 2:30 and again at 6.

Weight: We will find out on Friday, I'm guessing 22 lbs.

Length:  ?

Diaper Size: Just put on your first size 4 today. You hadn't necessarily outgrown size 3, but size 4 work just fine.

Clothes Size: I don't feel like you've outgrown clothes for a little while. Maybe you're growing taller and not wider these days :) Your waist does seems a little smaller.

Hair Color: Dirty blonde.

Eye color: Blue.

Health:
Good, good!

Eating:
This month you consistently have eaten either sweet potatoes (your preference) or butternut squash, both mixed with a little bit of rice cereal. I've been making your food because it is just so easy to keep in the freezer. Every time you eat you end up completely covered in food. You are reaching and touching EVERYTHING!

Milestones:
You are so happy! You love to roll around on the floor and explore lots and lots of toys. We read you lots of stories and you seem to be interested and to enjoy listening... although I think you would be most happy to have to book in your mouth. You can stand up when we hold you for a couple of second, and are still working on sitting up. I have a feeling you could sit up, but you REACH and fall toward anything that is in front or to the side of you. You absolutely love your cousins and squeal when they talk to you. No paci is really needed anymore because you've decided your right two fingers are just as good.

Your favorite toy:
Stacking Cups, Sophie the Giraffe, Bath Toys (foam numbers and letters), O-Ball

Firsts:
-Meal- sweet potatos and butternut squash... and avacado one time :)
-Nap in the Pack 'n Play
-Bath in the Duck Bath
-Visit to the Pool

These six months have been the absolute best. We love you to pieces, Lucas!
