What I'm Loving Lately.

1. Candy Crush.
Can't stop. Won't stop.  It's on my ipad and my phone.  I'm up to level 28 in 5 days.  Thank goodness they make you stop after 30 minutes of continuous play or I'd be in real trouble.  I haven't been this addicted to a game since Tetris, or SNAKE!

2. Sprinkles.
They just make food fun :)

3. Berries.
Strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, and my ultimate favorite, raspberries.  Every. Single. Day.
$5.  Not really necessary, but maybe I'll paint it some day for fun :)
Books! $0.25

Infantino Carrier and Hotslings carrier. $15 total

Bumbo with tray $3
$1. EE!
$2 Galvenized Wall Orgnaizer, $5 Pottery Barn Wall Clips, $1 Easel/Sign.
Too lazy to turn this right side up/don't know how on blogger. $2 each. So friggin cute.
More coats $2 each.
New with tags $3, $2.
4. Garage Sales.
I have had school on Thursday mornings (the prime time FYI), but I've managed to hunt down some pretty good finds for the baby lately.

5. Reality TV.
Bachelorette, Voice, American Bake Off, SYTYCD.  Really missing Bravo (we downgraded our TV package), but there is still plenty to see!

6. Dresses.
Here are a few I've purchased from Target lately to get me through this awkward phase. Oh, and a bright orange necklace, too.

7. Eyebrow Shadow Urban Decay.
I picked this up at Ulta this month (along with a separate brush) and it has been worth every penny. I got the darker of the two versions.  This lady will tell you all about needing your brows up to snuff.  I'm trying my best!

16 weeks.

Written June 25th

how far along: 16 weeks. Okay, so I think I've finally figured out how I'd like to calculate weeks here. Finishing my 16th week today, therefore, 16 weeks prego. Thankfully, Ashley helped me count since apparently I was having issues.  So yes, it's been two weeks since I've posted.

size of baby: an avacado. yummmm.

maternity clothes: Something happened between Friday and Saturday, no joke.  I woke up and I'm huge.  Hello BELLY! Very difficult to hide.  I'm still wearing normal clothes for the most part, but holding them up with a rubberband most of the time.

symptoms: I'm dying to feel something swimming around in there! A few headaches, but this 2nd trimester is nothing to complain about!

exercise: Eh.  Walks nightly. Telling myself I'll do better once summer school ends :)

cravings/aversions: Only real aversion is a sweet Chicken Salad. Not too many cravings- feeling quite "normal".

movement: Not yet!

sleep: Just fine.

gender: Still think it's a boy.

looking forward to: My doctor's appointment tomorrow! Nothing too exciting happens at this one (that I am aware of), BUT we get to schedule the gender ultrasound and THAT is exciting stuff.

worries: My belly.  It's huge.

milestones: Again, the bump!

best moment this week: I'm finishing my last week of teaching summer school this week and celebrating the beginning of my "real" summer break with a trip to Oklahoma to visit an incredible friend.  We've got a road trip to Texas planned with lots of stops for delicious food and will most likely find ourselves some rusty old piles of junk treasures to rummage through.  But mostly, I can't wait to spend a whole 3 days chatting it up like old times.

15 weeks.

So technically speaking, today I am 14 weeks 2 days, which means I am in my 15th week this week. Make sense? I had been posting at the end of each week, but it was confusing me (and my husband), so I'm switching it up and am going to post at the start of each week instead. You get two very similar posts in two days. :)

taken at 7:05 am... not my best look.

how far along: 15 weeks

size of baby: an orange! whoa.

maternity clothes: Still not yet, but limiting my options quickly.

symptoms: Nothing too exciting, which is good! I feel pretty good most days.  The mornings are definitely the best (but that's nothing new for me). After about 5pm, I'm pretty useless. And am still unusually stupidly sore.

exercise: Two more 3 mile runs and lots of little walks here and there.  Enough to say I did SOMETHING, but nothing to brag about for sure.

cravings/aversions: Grilled cheese and chips. MMMM. No aversions unless I'm queasy.

movement: Not yet... but I'm starting to think about it more often.

sleep: I can go to sleep just fine, but I wake up a lot.  At least I'm not still eating in the middle of the night. oops.

gender: Still think it's a boy.

looking forward to: My friend's bachelorette party this weekend! Re-uniting with some great gals will be great.  I have no idea what I'm going to wear, though.... Also, we're seeing Mumford and Son's with friends, so that will be fun!

worries: I have weird dreams that make me worry this kid is going to arrive with nothing prepared on my end quite frequently. Nothing too worrisome this week though.

milestones: We HEARD the heartbeat.  TWICE. It's just so so cute.

best moment this week: Nothing really related to the babe, but I did have a lot of fun going to my old studio's dance recital last weekend.  I really wish I could still do that stuff.... oh, wait.  I never could do that.  They're like awesome now.  Like SYTYCD awesome.

Also, my sister-in-law came into town to visit for a couple days.  Like I was telling her, she's the "glue" in the family.  The one everyone turns to for direction (literally and figuratively).  Just a bundle of positive energy and goodness.  So nice to see that gal.

14 weeks.

Written June 4th

how far along: 14 weeks

size of baby: a lemon!

maternity clothes: No... BUT I'm definitely starting to feel uncomfortable in some of my normal clothes. Teaching summer school this summer, I decided to grab a few dresses to get me through those work days without feeling the need to unbutton my pants :) on other days, jeans and workout gear are feeling comfy for now.

symptoms: The biggest change this week is the size of my belly! I hope it's baby and not just the junk food I ate to celebrate the last week of school! Other than that, a couple instances of nausea, a weird feeling in my chest and still pretty tired.

exercise: Two 3 mile runs and a few walks. Maybe if it stops raining I could get out a little more next week.

cravings/aversions: Not too many aversions, or cravings, really.

movement: Nope.

sleep: Okay.... still many potty breaks.

gender: I’m dying to know!

looking forward to: Hearing the heartbeat.

worries: Just hoping that everything is going well. I would see my doctor every week if she let me, just to get a thumbs up :)

milestones: 2nd trimester!

best moment this week: Announcing our news on Facebook and Instagram! I'm overwhelmed with all of the well wishes we have received.

13 weeks

Written May 29th
how far along 13 weeks

size of baby a peach!

maternity clothes: nope.  At my appointment on Thursday I had gained 2 lbs, but I really don't feel like my body has shown many changes at this point. Some days I feel like I have a bloat belly, but its been going away in the mornings.

symptoms I must say, I feel like I've been pretty lucky! Other than being tired all the time and a few headaches, it's been great. I've also been weirdly sore, like I worked out really hard (but I didn't.....)

exercise A few walks and a 2 mile run. I'm hoping to step this up during the summer!

cravings/aversions: Chips! Salty is not my usual go to but man chips hit the spot. And cheese.

movement: nope.

sleep: other than 2-4 potty breaks, good. I thought peeing during pregnancy was only when you had a giant baby sitting on your bladder. I thought wrong!

gender I’m down to 80% sure it's a boy. The baking soda test says girl, but still.

looking forward to Summer break!

worries I was worried about finding the heartbeat, but we got to see it on Thursday. Just the usual worries now that everything is happening as it should.

milestones We SAW the heartbeat on the ultrasound! The doctor couldn't find it via the Doppler (cue freaking out) so we had an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay. We got to see our little baby wiggling around in there! My heart immediately exploded with love. It was such a miraculous experience for Justin and I.

best moment this week: Announcing our news! We told friends, co-workers, and I just told my students today.

A then, my heart exploded.

I am so excited to finally be able to share our big news with the blog world! J and I feel so incredibly blessed to have been given this ultimate gift.

I'm starting my second trimester today, finishing my 13th week, which I guess you call 14 weeks (so confusing,). Of course I will be doing my best to document this adventure here on the blog. There are so many things to think about and plan, from the mountains of products to consider to (ahem) birthing this kiddo. I'll be sharing what I find, and mostly asking for suggestions, advice, a reality check, etc. :)

how far along:  6 weeks

size of baby:  a little blueberry

maternity clothes: nope.  I did buy a couple things on clearance at Target this week though, which is making it feel more real!

symptoms:  oh man, lots of random things, luckily not all at the same time.  Two nights this week I fell asleep before 8pm.  I had a couple moments of nausea, and cramps here and there most days this week.

exercise:  A few walks and a 4 mile run on Saturday morning.  Definitely feels different that a month ago!

cravings/aversions: Nothing really.  I don’t like the smell of beer!

movement: nope.

sleep: VERY tired, but somewhat restless after 4:30am.  So sad to sleep forever and still wake up tired!

gender:  I’m 99% sure it’s a boy.  He’s really going to love the pink hats I bought at a garage sale this weekend.

looking forward to:  My next doctor’s appointment, which sadly isn’t until May 22nd! It feels like forever away.  I’m going to try to keep this a secret until after then.

worries:  Oh.Em.Gee. I need to work on being less paranoid.  I’m worried about Ev.er.y.thing. Cramps? I’ve called the nurse twice.  The food I eat? I triple check each label. We went out with friends last night to a really neat pub and I was so paranoid about second-hand smoke that I spent most of the time making an excuse to go stand in the cold.  Luckily I wasn’t alone most of the time.  But still! I’m paranoid.

milestones:  1st appointment in the books! We met our doctor for the first time and really like her.  Big relief.  I also was finally able to tell my BFF and another close friend this week, which I loved.  I have the greatest friends.

best moment this week: I really do enjoy every bit of it.  Even the yucky feelings I get sometimes.  I feel so grateful and blessed to have this precious new life to take care of now... Tear...  There are those hormones again.
